Panoramic Windscreen & Sunroof: A standard wide-angle panoramic windscreen that doubles the visibility at the front of the vehicle. The vertical angle of visibility is 70o, compared with just 35o in a conventional MPV. C4 Picasso boasts the largest glazed area on the compact MPV market, reaching a full 6.4 m2 with the panoramic glass sunroof.
Interior Lighting & Practicality: The passenger compartment remains just as welcoming and atmospheric at night thanks to a host of original lighting sources, such as light guides under the front fascia, in the door panels and in the headlining that diffuse soft, gentle light inside the vehicle. Lighting can be customised day and night by selecting a colour on the control cluster, and the air conditioning screens at either end of the dashboard are illuminated by yellow lights.
A dashboard-mounted automatic electric parking brake that does away with the mechanical hand brake between the front seats. The reorganisation of the interior has created enough space for four large, closed storage compartments in the dashboard, including a refrigerated cubby that can hold one 1.5-litre bottle or two 0.5-litre bottles.
Dimensions: C4 Picasso is an exceptionally spacious vehicle. Its architecture and dimensions (4.59 m long, 1.83 m wide and 1.66 m high) make for a roomy interior. The three rows of seats can comfortably accommodate up to seven passengers.
Boot Space C4 Picasso offers an exceptionally comfortable interior without reducing the size of the boot. The amount of boot space depends on the interior layout. In the most common configuration, with the seats in row three folded away and the row-two seats pushed right back, the volume beneath the parcel shelf of 576 litres VDA. When all the seats are folded away, maximum capacity is 1,951 litres VDA.
Three Rows-7 Seats: The second row of seats can all be folded away in a single movement without removing the headrests. The 3rd-row seating can be easily folded away under the floor without removing the headrests. The original movements of the seats allow for easy access to the 3rd row. The cushions of the 2nd-row side seats are automatically lifted towards the seat back, much like a cinema seat, by pressing a control. The seats then slide up against the front seat-backs in a single movement.
Engines & Gearbox: The C4 Picasso features a new six-speed electronic gearbox system, coupled to the 143 bhp 2litre petrol engine or the 110 bhp or 138 bhp HDi diesel powerplants with particulate filters.
The quick, precise shifts of the six-speed electronic gearbox system deliver outstanding performance and one of the smoothest drives in its category. This gearbox also helps reduce fuel consumption by 4 to 5 per cent and CO2 emissions by 5 g per km.

C-Triomphe is a forerunner to the car that will be launched in Europe in 2008 under the name C4 Sedan. Unveiled in China at the end of February, C-Triomphe goes on show in the Madrid Auto Salon for the first time in Europe, in a country where three-box vehicles are particularly popular.
Based on the C4 but with a longer wheelbase, this modern, original vehicle boasts all the characteristics and innovations that have made the C4 a success, while gaining an elegant notchback body style for remarkable interior space. C-Triomphe is a reference in its market in terms of rear space (leg room) and boot volume (513 litres, VDA standard).
The C4 with a 6-speed electronic gearbox system
Premiered on the C4 and mated to the HDi 110 DPFS engine, the 6-speed electronic gearbox system is of an entirely new design.
This highly driveable engine boasts a range of advantages. Electro-hydraulic gearbox control makes for smooth, fast gear changing. At the same time, automated gear and clutch management cuts fuel consumption by between 3% and 5%, compared with a conventional manual gearbox.
This new gearbox therefore provides a real alternative to manual and automatic transmissions, not only in terms of driveability and comfort, but also in terms of fuel economy and a particularly attractive customer price. It joins the long list of innovative equipment available on the C4, for safety, convenience and on-board comfort.
A vehicle of innovative design and features that has picked up an array of prizes (including "World Car Design 2006" at the recent New York International Motor Show), the C4 is enjoying considerable market success. More than 350,000 vehicles have been sold to date.
The C4 HDi 110 DPFS equipped with the new 6-speed electronic gearbox system will be available from June 2006.
The C5 HDi 173 DPFS
The C5 range has gained a new HDi diesel engine developing 173 bhp DIN (125 kW or 170 bhp EEC), equipped with a particulate filter (DPFS) and mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
Featuring a range of innovations (parallel sequential dual turbo and new combustion and injection systems), the new engine sets high standards in power and, above all, driveability, particularly at low engine speeds. It also stands out for its environmental performance (Euro IV + DPFS) and fuel economy.
This high-performance engine makes its market debut on the C5 from June 2006.

Citroen unveiled a saloon version of its C4 compact hatchback that aims directly to the Chinese market
China loves sedans and Citroen, being a major player in this huge market, decided to add a sedan version of its C4 compact hatch. The French stretched C4’s platform to its limits: 4.8 m long, 1.77 m wide & 2.71 m wheelbase, thus, making the C-Triomphe nearly as large as Citroen’s mid size sedan, C5. Now will it come to
A vehicle of status with strong, dynamic, prestige styling
C Triomphe takes the form of a notchback saloon, 4.8 m long and 1.77 m wide. It is a car of real personality and presence, with exclusive, high-status design.
This new saloon reflects Citroën's style cues. The lines are elegant, flowing and harmonious. The chrome trim running the length of the waist line emphasises the prestige looks of C Triomphe and clearly identifies it as a vehicle of status. The boomerang-shaped lights at the rear echo the shape of the headlamps. The front and rear are linked by a chrome strip that underlines the spacious boot.
A new benchmark for comfort and space
The interior design places the emphasis on space, well-being and comfort to create a relaxed in-car ambience.
With its long 2.71 m wheelbase, C Triomphe is exceptionally spacious. It sets a new standard in rear space, with its generous leg room. The ergonomic seats of C Triomphe are designed to provide exceptional comfort, by damping vertical vibrations. The driver and front passenger seats are electrically controlled. At the same time, C Triomphe features exceptional boot capacity of 513 litres VDA. The practical layout of the boot is further enhanced by the 60:40 split/fold rear seat.
The sophisticated interior design is highlighted by the light-coloured leather upholstery, fitted from the second level of trim, and the wood finish on the dashboard and door panels. Practical stowage compartments are placed around the cabin, including drawers under the rear seat. The glovebox can be cooled, and a 5-CD stacker is available under the rear seat between the two drawers.
Particular attention has been given to acoustic and thermal comfort. Air conditioning (automatic from the second level of trim) is standard. At the same time, to further improve comfort for rear passengers, an air blower fitted in the central armrest diffuses air towards the rear. The output can be adjusted and air vents make it possible to direct the flow of air. Completing this array of equipment, C Triomphe is equipped with a sunblind for the rear window.
Innovations for onboard comfort and relaxed driving
Like the C4, C Triomphe boasts a host of innovations in driving ergonomics and on-board comfort. It features many modern, efficient driving aids designed for easy, relaxed driving.
The ergonomic driving position features a fixed-centred controls steering wheel. The fixed hub groups the main comfort functions and driving aids. This layout places the emphasis on ergonomics and easy use, thus promoting driving pleasure and safety.
The steering wheel is associated with a display unit of original design in which driving information (vehicle speed, speed limiter and cruise control settings, etc.) is shown on a translucent strip in the centre of the dashboard. The display contrast adjusts instantly to the light to provide perfect legibility is perfect in all circumstances, by day and night, in full sunlight or in darkness.
Exceptionally polished road manners
Manufactured on platform 2 of the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group, the C4 is a reference for roadholding and active safety.
C Triomphe shares the running gear of this platform. It is equipped with variable power steering as standard. The braking system comprises four discs, two of which are ventilated at the front. At the same time, dedicated stability and braking assistance/control functions provide exceptional roadholding. ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency braking assistance and the automatic illumination of hazard warning lights are standard. ESP is standard from the second level of trim.
A reliable and reassuring vehicle
The C4 also sets high standards in passive safety, as illustrated by its excellent results in EuroNCAP crash tests. C Triomphe also shares the structural reinforcements of platform 2. Like the C4, it boasts a wide range of features in this area. These include an additional impact absorber at the front end of the subframe to distribute energy more effectively in the event of frontal impact. At the same time, the boot effectively absorbs rear impact.
C Triomphe is fitted as standard with a driver airbag (shape-optimised thanks to the fixed centre of the steering wheel) and front passenger airbag. It also features driver and front passenger chest airbags with curtain airbags for passengers at the front and rear. Seatbelts with three anchor points, pyrotechnic pretensioners and force limiters are also standard.
Dynamic performance with the 150 bhp DIN 2.0i petrol engine
C Triomphe is equipped with the 2.0I engine developing 108 kW EEC (150 bhp DIN), which meets Euro IV standards. This engine is mated to an automatic sequential or manual gearbox. The 2.0i 16V engine develops maximum torque of 200 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It features continuously variable valve timing (VVT) to optimise filling of the combustion chambers at all engine speeds. Torque of 170 Nm, almost 85% of the maximum torque available, is supplied from 2,000 rpm, providing exceptional driveability.
