There have been rumors about an upscale VW 4door-coupe circulating for a while now, however this is the first time we have pictures to prove it. Swedish car magazine Teknikensvarld posted this image of a camouflaged prototype caught testing somewhere in Southwestern USA. Initial information refers to a 4door-coupe with a low roof-line – something like the Mercedes CLS, but a lot cheaper, based on the current Passat that will fit right under the Phaethon in VW’s car line-up. It is expected that the 4door-coupe will be introduced in the second-half of 2008 and it will be available with a wide range of 4cylinder and V6 powertrains. Via: teknikensvarld
